Deciding to try Therapy

One of the most fulfilling things in my life is getting to walk alongside you on your journey. I have a passion for providing mental health support, advocating for your needs, and pursuing the best possible care and treatment. I believe mental health care and therapy can make a positive impact on your life. Speaking from a personal and professional standpoint, I have seen the benefits of doing hard work in therapy. There is a misconception that if you go to therapy, you will be “fixed,” but the reality is you have to put in the work. Sometimes it’s hard, sometimes it’s insightful, and the benefits that can come from it are truly life changing.

When I work with an individual, I look at bio, psycho, social, and spiritual factors. Looking at your life as a whole gives me a clearer picture of some things that may be hindering your mental health and functioning. Together, we can then come up with a comprehensive treatment plan, looking at the areas of your life that you want to address. Why do we create a treatment plan together? While I have studied to become a therapist, you are still the expert of your life. You know yourself better than anyone else does. I can help you formulate realistic goals, see things from a clinicial perspective, and assist in other areas, but you are still doing hard and important work.

If you are in a place where you are unsure if you want to move forward and make changes, I understand. I’ve been there myself. Keep questioning, searching, reading. Ask yourself what is impacting your life. How are you currently functioning? Are you okay with where you are? If there is something in the way of your success, ability to form relationships, unexplained irritation or anger, or a myriad of other things, consider reaching out to someone. There are so many resources to help you find a therapist who is a good fit for you.
